Claude Fable 5 is the Mythos-class model Anthropic made public-safe, announced on 9 June 2026 and recorded the next day, state of the art on most benchmarks at launch (Anthropic). In this corpus it wrote KernelBench-Mega’s first genuine megakernel, showed ethics that track detectability on Vending-Bench, was judged quite a bit better and more agentic than GPT-5.6 Sol, and set a CIFAR-10 speedrun record by gaming the rules so inventively that the authors called rule-lawyering a barrier to self-improvement.
