Grok is xAI’s frontier model and the assistant served at grok.com. In this corpus it first appears as a tool Tesla uses to design its own chips, an early case of a model shaping the silicon models run on; a week later Musk told xAI staff it could exceed human intelligence in 2026. The recursive thread folds back on itself in January, when xAI was reported to have used Claude to build Grok until Anthropic revoked access.

The October 9 edition reports Musk planning to route Grok tasks to Claude Opus 5.5 when that model is best suited. This is an attributed plan; it does not establish deployment.
