About Me

Hi there, welcome to my website and blog!

I'm an informatics researcher and software engineer interested in solving data management, integration, and sharing challenges in biomedical science. I have a doctorate in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Washington where I became interested in how to share medical images of people's brains. I worked with an awesome group of people to create a data exchange standard called the Neuroimaging Data Model that provides structured information about the provenance of fMRI results. I also spent a few years as a postdoc at SRI International and Stanford working on a project called NCANDA that investigated neurodevelopment in adolescence using brain imaging and cognitive measures.

Currently, I am a bioinformatics software engineer in a research group at Genentech working in the area of clinical genomics for precision medicine.
