The AI Futures Project is a nonprofit research group that forecasts advanced AI; it wrote the AI 2027 scenario and maintains the AI Futures Model. In this corpus it appears first as a forecaster, when 91% of AI 2027’s verifiable predictions held up and its model put a twofold superhuman gap at July 2034, and then as a policy actor when it floated Plan A, a plan to delay superintelligence to 2040 under mutually assured compute destruction.
