Implementing Semantics-Driven Data Exchange in Brain Science: The NCANDA Case Study

March 5, 2016 · Talks

Presented to the NIH Commons Working Group (2016), this talk described how NCANDA enables neuroimaging data sharing by developing standard terminologies, data models, and APIs in partnership with the neuroimaging community.

We extended the Neuroimaging Data Model (NIDM) to support cognitive and imaging measures, augmented datasets with ontologies, and published them to the Synapse repository — and explored collaborations with other NIH Commons projects on data governance, provenance tracking, and digital-object compliance.
